Update on the Zelda Month!

Yey so we´re getting closer and closer to face of against Ganon the king of darkness in A Link to the Past. I have recently completed the second dungeon in the dark realm and are now making my way to the third. However I will not be able to stream/play until friday (hopefully) because I´m going away this week. I´m going to the middle of sweden for studies so that kinda sucks!

But on friday (hopefully) I will be back online with some more Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, so meanwhile I´m gone, rest up and have fun!

The Legend of Zelda month has begun!

So it´s begun, my Legend of Zelda month. Why? Well because about two years ago I bought The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for my nintendo 3ds, I was about to start playing it when my wife screamed my name and said it was time. Time for our daughter to say hello to the world. Our daughter Zelda was born November 23rd 2015. So I thought to myself why not celebrate both her and the Zelda franchise by doing a Zelda marathon in a whole month (probably will be longer)

The Zelda games are my favourite games and now it´s time to play them all again. It´ll be so much fun! I will be doing All of the Zelda games, however I´m not sure just yet how to be able to stream and upload videos of the game cube games just yet (those I know I can upload and stream and how, just need a nintendo wii to do it). The hardest part is to be able to upload videos of Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks and A Link Between worlds, because I have literally no idea on how to get it on my computer so any idea is appreciated.

The Zelda games are dear to me mostly because I love the exploration in those games, getting new equipment in each new dungeon and the boss fights. The visual compartments and the soundtrack is just awesome as well. The character design is pretty neat aswell. I love the trio of Link, Zelda and Ganon(dorf), they truelly represents evil vs goodness, courage, wisdom and power.

So everyday I´m uploadin one to two videos on youtube from the Legend of Zelda month, mostly from my streams. The first game out is A link to the past, yeah I know I didn´t start in a correct order, but the reason I choose to start with that game is because it´s the first Zelda game that made me really love the series. I did play the first and second game on the NES before A Link to the Past and while I enjoyed those I didn´t really care much about them first. Nowadays I pitty myself for not liking them more back in the days.

I´m not sure just yet how I will do with the gamecube version of Four Swords Adventure, mostly because I do not own that game as we speak but maybe if I get a hold if I will stream it and upload it to youtube.

And when I´m not streaming I´m probably working with my new art, The Legend of Zelda meets Star Wars... I´m really getting satisfied with that piece, I will upload it when it´s complete!

So the list are as following:

A Link to the Past (snes)
Legend of Zelda (nes)
Links Adventure (nes)
Links Awakening (GB)
Ocarina of Time (N64)
Majoras Mask (N64)
Oracle of Seasons (GBC)
Oracle of Ages (GBC)
Wind Waker (GC)
Minish Cap (GBA)
Twilight Princess (GC)
Phantom Hourglass (DS)
Spirit Tracks (DS)
Skyward Sword (WII) ps. This is if I get an hold on a wii and the game.
A Link Between Worlds (3DS)
Triforce Heroes (3DS)

And I hope you will follow me through this marathon.

Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Review

The last game of a trilogy of really cool star wars games. This is the one that sums it up and actually the only one that I owned myself under the snes era (I have bought the other two later on).

There´s so much to talk about this game, it keeps the arcade game feeling however this time around it´s a bit easier. This is actually the easiest game of the three, might be because I have played this through multiple times but I don´t think so. There´s not as difficult platforming like in the other two games.

So what has changed since Super Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back? Well to start it off, you can now choose you´re character again (most of the times). You can also play as two new characters, Leia and Wicket (you know the little Ewok bear?). Leia plays out different depending on if she´s dressed with bounty hunter gear, slave or rebell. That´s a really cool feature that they have added, the different costumes that plays a big role in the movie is in here in the game as well. And frankly there´s probably a big lot of guys who as always wanted to play with slave Leia. Wicket is one heck of a cool character aswell, armed with a bow he can fire arrows and climb upon those. This reveals new paths to go which is kinda awesome. Also his bow is really powerfull and ofcourse his height aint that big which makes him a harder target to hit for the enemies.

Don´t get fooled by that the game is easier than the rest because there is still alot of deathtraps in the game like small moving objects that the player needs to land on, all kinds of different enemies with a taste of blood in their mouths. The boss battles still is pretty bad ass, mostly due to the oversized bosses (which was a thing in retro games and still are) but also that it mostly takes memorable characters from the movie and let´s the player fight them. Bosses like Jabba the hutt, Darth Vader and ofcourse the Emperor.

And ofcourse there still are vehicle based levels, the game even starts with one where the player needs to travel to Jabbas palace. You will be able to speed through Endor with speederbikes and fight against the deathstar in Millenium Falcon.

The third time around this gaming continue on delivering what fans of the game and movie expects which is packed with lore and really cool action. It´s fast paced, difficult but a real fun experience. There´s not a dull moment in the game and it´s something for the whole family to enjoy because of the easy controls.

Overall - 9/10, easy to pick up, hard to let go off. Get your friends and play this now!

Hey if you haven´t already done so, check out the first video in my lets play of this game here:

Super Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back Review

Ok so I told you guys that I loved Super Star Wars: A New Hope, well this time around nothing has changed. The second game in the ssw saga deliveres both challenging platforming but also fun gameplay elements such as more vehicle based missions, character powers and more levels.

What makes this game great is that it still have the touches that made the first game great but it adds more. Now if you die and have used up all of your continues, you don't have to start all over, you can use a password which will take you to the start of the level you were at. This is a great way to get the player coming back for more. Also do I need to remember you guys that under the snes era it was more usual to use passwords rather than to save?

The game delivers on really challenging platforming, sometimes the player needs to guess where to jump to next. In overall the level design as been scaled up a notch. The levels are much bigger this time around, there are multiple paths to take and explore. However this time around the player can't choose who to play as. Each level has its own character, which seems only natural because the game follows more of the story from the movie than the first game did.

The characters you take control of in this game are the same as last time, you got Luke Skywalker, still got blaster and lightsaber but this time he got force powers (well later in the game). He got he´s rebel pilot suit on and it looks awesome. You get to play as Han Solo again, still got fire blaster upgrade but also got grenades that he can throw which does huge amount of damage on the enemies. And lastly you get to play as Chewbacca and he can this time around spin around hurting enemies and still not take any damage himself, this is usefull all the time. You get to drive snowspeeder, millenium falcon and an x-wing but you also get to ride a tauntaun on Hoth.

The player still needs to keeps his focus on what´s happening on the screen because there is alot of projectiles flying around and enemies who are trying to kill the player. At the same time the player is trying to do almost impossible jumps which are prompting the player to jump at the last possible pixel.

The game world is filled with more life this time around mostly because the background environment is more detailed and there´s lots of more "living" enemies. Hoth truelly looks amazing, so does Dagobah and the cloud city.

Overall - 9/10, If you haven´t done so already, buy this game, it is a classic that will never die!

Here you can check out the first part of my playthrough of the game:

Super Star Wars review

Ok so if we think back to the year 1993, the snes console were still pretty new in europe. High quality games were produced like butter, one right after another. But still there hadn't been a good star wars game, and star wars were huge in my school and between me and my friends. So when Super Star Wars hit the stores me and my friends played it like crazy. It was the best way to expierence star wars other than the movies. But nowdays we got plenty of star wars games that we can play, some are ok, others suck but some are real good. So the question is if Super Star Wars still holds out as a great game, but also as an great addition to the star wars universe?

I have bought Super Star Wars and Super Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back to my SNES recently (yeah I did it after playing through the Star Wars Battlefront beta). I already own The Return of the Jedi. I started SSW up together with a friend of mine and the first thing to hit us was that this will not be a walk through the park. The game is extremely difficult even on the easiest difficulty. There are enemies and projectiles flying everywhere so the player needs to be really aware of the surroundings.

There are so much detail in the game world, they´ve nailed all from the classic star wars soundtrack to how guns sounds when fired to enemies growl or death shouts. Ofcourse there are enemies in the game that haven´t been seen in any star wars movie but it doesn´t do anything because at the time the game was released the star wars world was a big mystery itself.

So the game starts at Tatooine, where you control Luke Skywalker in his quest of finding first C3P0 and then the story goes like the movie (almost with a few spinoffs), you will see areas like inside the Sandcrawler, more of the city Mos Eisle, inside the death star and also the attack on the death star. Most of the time you control a character that goes blasting through alot of enemies (hey you even get an lightsaber later in the game), but sometimes there are vehicles which you control. Vehicles like the Sandspeeder and X-wing are playable, and those missions stand out from the rest of them, here you have an objective to fullfill. Sometimes you need to massmurder Jawas and other times blasting down Tie fighters and defensive gun towers.

The thing I love most of the game is how the game takes it source material very serious but then does something new has well. Like I told you already there are some missions in the game where the movie never shed any light on but the game does in its own cool way. There´s also huge boss battles in the game, you will fight of the Sarlacc, huge defensive robot in the deathstar, also the tractor beam which is shut down by Ben Kenobi in the movie is an boss.
The game is still quite fun to play with some pretty difficult areas which sometimes are mostly based upon luck due to some poor controls (not always poor controls but sometimes). I would really recommend you guys to test it out if you haven´t done so already.

8/10, Overall the game is challenging, fun and a real contribution to the star wars universe.
