Okey this is actually the first Zelda game that I played and enjoyed. I remember I had my problems with this one as well when I was younger, mostly because I weren´t that good in english (yeah i´m a swede). But however I did my best and the deeper in the game I came, the more I wanted to play it. I got help from my friend who had beaten it. This was the start of my Zelda gaming. Since then I have been hooked.
So A Link To The Past is the third part of the Zelda game series. It goes back to the root of the series (that is The Legend of Zelda for the NES) and takes the gameplay from it but makes it bigger and better. This was a common theme in SNES era to do games from the NES era but this time bigger and better (Super Castlevania, Super Mario World, Super Contra and Super Metroid to mention a few). It´s top view of Link again, and this time he is asked to first get three pearls to be able to get the Master Sword. Just as he has gotten the sword and defeated the evil wizard and the player thinks the game is beaten, Link gets teleported to the dark realm. Which is as huge as the light world is.
There´s plenty of stuff to get in A Link To The Past such as heartpieces, if you collect four you get a new heart. There´s plenty of items to try and find aswell which will help Link conquer the darkness. And there´s a few minigames to win extra rupees. The game offers a something extra for the player which is rarely seen in a game.
The enemies in the game is something extra aswell, they have a nice design aswell, and it´s fun to see enemies from the first and second game in a better looking game with updated designs. The bosses are staying true to the SNES theme with being alot bigger than the player himself. The bosses also adds a element of strategy which the player needs to figure out, example what item to use and how to avoid its attacks.
This can be a challenging game but it never feels impossible, as long as the player stays cool and taking it slow everything can be conquered. If you haven´t done so already, try this game out because this is a real diamond in the snes library that needs to be played.
10/10 This is one of the best SNES games out there which needs to be both played and owned!
Here´s the video from me playing this game 100%
