Final Fantasy 6 - The best ff game?

Well people do say that their favourite Final Fantasy game is Final Fantasy 6. I´m not so sure if I can back it up. Before you start with the hating just hear me out.

Final Fantasy 6 is by far a great game and all, but what I feel like is that I kinda can´t relax while playing it. There are tons and tons of secrets to uncover and if you missed doing it before you proceed sometimes just to the next town, well then you are out of luck. Sure that´s not a bad thing and it only does replaying the game more fun to uncover new things. However, one thing that I really don´t like is all the random things you need to do to unlock abilities or buy stuff. Sure it´s completely optional but hey who thinks that playing through the Veldt is a fun thing to do? To grind hour after hour for just one enemy type to spawn? Well I don´t but I don´t want to loose an ability to Gau either.

Sure I might be nagging on small things right now. Another thing is, does the game really need all those heroes? Swapping back and forth, fixing equipment and skills for everyone? I only play with these characters: Gau, Edgar/Sabin, Terra/Celes, Shadow, Mog or Locke... man do I really play with all of them? Crap maybe the game needs all heroes after all. I know however that I probably won´t be playing as Setzer or Cyan, why should I?

In overall I really like playing Final Fantasy 6 but it aint my favourite one. My favourite is probably 7 or 8. With that said I say good night and thank you guys for all of your support! :)
